The main point in chapters seven and eight in the text messaging book are understanding the deeper meaning of what you are writing, why you are writing it, and what the story means. It points out that it is importance of acknowledging your own feelings while simultaneously writing about something. However, it is important to investigate into all sources while remaining bias and then form an educated opinion. It gave strategies for writing and how to improve and enhance the subject at hand. It can sometimes be helpful to take notes and write a summary. It gave tips and explained how important a good thesis can be in beginning a paper. I learned it is also important to make sure that each point expands on the thesis. It is helpful to ask questions when writing a paper. This helps find the deeper meaning and is a great way to edit a paper. Sometimes to make a point clearer and stronger it is helpful to take a stance and argue something that you actually don’t agree with. In this instance, your feelings may be so strong it may be easier to express your feelings. In the book it gave an example that it is good to have someone with a completely different view point edit your paper. In this way, that person can see things that you may have left out.
