The idea of a satire is to make fun of something in an exaggerated way. When doing this in writing a paper, it can be done with sarcasm. However, in a story, a satire can loose a visual sense that it could have in a movie or video. In a paper, I feel like there is a limit in the fact that facial expressions, jesters, and body language are lost. In a movie, I feel like this would be a key factor of explaining the concept of the idea that one was trying to make and get across. In my paper I will explain these things to emphasize my point. I never realized what a deep meaning movies can possess. When we were watching the YouTube video in class, it made me view the commonly used sight in a new light. I saw how people used it in a way to work through their problems, meet people, and express themselves. I had previously only used YouTube to listen to music videos. Now I know what the sight really consists of. The one story that really stuck with me is when we were learning about the man who lost his baby boy. He explained how he used YouTube in a coping method do work through his problems. I also liked the love story that it showed. I never realized how it could be a way to meet people. Watching the YouTube video reminded me of the movie the Truman Show. I thought it was really cool to see into other people’s lives. When I’m writing my story I will try to get my point across as effectively as videos do.
